Performed at - Inter IIT Cultural Meet, 2019 - IIT Bombay (3rd position)
The Play: The journey of the play started in July itself with a simple idea revolving around the market and the notion of consumerism. This simple rough idea was then gradually heated in the fire of numerous brainstorming discussions and web articles to turn it into a strong conceptual foundation which was then mixed with creativity, swag, energy, and enthusiasm of the whole Nukkad team to finally forge it into the street play - ‘Pagalkhana’.The Nukkad, ‘Pagalkhana’ explores the power of ever-growing and omnipresent consumerism culture, how it manifests itself in our lives and the effects it can have on us, on different levels varying from social to economical, from daily shopping to terrorist attacks. It emphasizes on the fact that how this “consumerism” has become one of the strongest forces affecting our lives in the “modern world” and despite this many people remain unaware of just how consumerism has crept into different areas of our lives or the level to which it can affect us.
Gustaakh Saale secured the third position among 15 other IITs in Inter IIT Cultural Meet, 2019 for performing the same.
